Sometimes all we can trust is our ART and creativity. “In Art We Trust”, Untitled Artist Group‘s Fall Show 2009, goes downtown! On Friday, September 18, 2009 from 6-10pm, trust our art to wow and entertain you in the hottest spot in Nashville, Buffalo Billiards on 2nd Avenue North in the historic district with a fabulous view of the river.

It’s time to enjoy great art, cocktails, and fascinating people in a relaxed, non-traditional environment. A wide variety of artists are participating and most of the works are for sale. Street art, traditional art, sculpture, photography, performance art… if you can dream it up, it’s probably been at one of our shows. Untitled’s uncensored and unjuried exhibits typically feature over 100 artists from around Middle Tennessee, and are free and open to the public.

Also, at the show we will have a silent auction! And what will be in the auction you may ask: cue balls! Yep, artists in the show will have a chance to paint or decorate a cue ball for the “In Art We Trust” silent auction. All of the money the silent auction brings in will continue to support Untitled’s free one night shows, individual artist grants, and more. In addition to the over one hundred artists’ works for sale in the exhibit, the silent auction will allow any visitor a chance to take home a little piece of art for a pool table or as a decoration for the office. Don’t forget to check it out when you step into Untitled’s “In Art We Trust” at Buffalo Billiards in Nashville on September 18.

UNTITLED Nashville has introduced new artists to the community since 1991, is comprised of several hundred artists, and has left an indelible stamp on the burgeoning Nashville art scene. UNTITLED members include staff and exhibiting artists from Zeitgeist, Plowhaus, Twist Gallery, The Rymer Gallery, The Showroom, MIR Gallery, Estel Gallery, Studio 83, and Blend Studio. Franklin 4 The Cure, an all day event which includes “Run 4 The Cure 5K Run/Walk” and “Concert 4 The Cure,” will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 in the Westhaven development in West Franklin off New Highway 96W.  The race portion of the event will take place in the morning with the concert in the evening.  Both are open to the public.

Franklin 4 the Cure is a certified 5k route (3.1 Miles) and will begin at 7:30 AM with (2) kids fun runs afterward.  The Run/Walk will start and finish at the Westhaven Town Center.  Entry fee for the 5K is $25, $28 after September 4 and before September 18 and $35 day of race.  A T-Shirt is guaranteed for registration by September 4 and first come, first serve after that. Children can run or walk Lily’s Rocket Run (1/3 Mile) or Cooper’s Fun Run (1/4 Mile) for $12.  This includes a T-Shirt, medal and children activities after the run.  Front Street will be temporarily changed to “Hope Street” in the festival area where kids will enjoy inflatables, face painting, and other activities geared for great family fun. Concert 4 The Cure – “An Evening with Deana Carter”, will take place in the evening hours on Sat. Sept. 19th, starting at 7 PM on the Great Lawn at the Westhaven Residents Club.  The doors open at 5:30PM. Multi-platinum recording artist, Deana Carter will perform and tickets to the concert are now available at www.franklin4thecure.com for $20 and $10 for children 5 to 12.  Children under 5 attend for free. Beverages and food will be available for purchase at The Great Lawn.  A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $125 per person and includes buffet dinner and beverages with a premium view of the concert from the balcony.

The Concert 4 The Cure, now in its 4th year, was started by the four sons of Theresa Stacey, after their beloved mother lost her twelve year battle with the disease in 2001.  Her courageous fight became an inspiration to everyone she touched.  The Stacey family has raised over $90,000 through these concerts and feels a sense of purpose behind their desire to organize them.  ”We are excited to have this opportity to honor our mother with this fourth Concert 4 The Cure.  We are fortunate to have so many caring people join us in our campaign to fight Cancer by funding research,” they said.

Along with exciting performances, a silent auction will be at hand to include memorabilia from notable musicians, athletes and other celebrities have included signed guitars from Eric Clapton, Van Halen and Sheryl Crow, autographed fiddle from Dolly Parton, signed jerseys from Peyton Manning and Kenny Chesney, lithographs of the film “Scarface” with the signature of Al Pacino and rarities such as a signed cowboy hat from Charlie Daniels and autographed photos of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Women Rock For The Cure (WRFTC) is adding some pink Southern comfort to the upcoming Food Network Southern Food & Wine Festivalat Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tenn. this weekend July 31-August 2, 2009.  The premiere event includes a variety of exhibitors, food and wine samplings, food competitions, plus live cooking seminars and exclusive opportunities to meet Food Network celebrity chefs including Alton Brown, Bobby & Jamie Deen and The Neelys.  A major feature of the festival includes a wine tasting section that will feature selections from a variety of vineyards, including local favorite Arrington Vineyards.  But the real reason to taste and “toast” is that a portion of the proceeds from the wine tasting tickets will benefit Women Rock For The Cure.

About Women Rock For The Cure

WRFTC was founded in 2007 by four friends with ties to the music industry: Jensen Sussman, Liz Lee Schullo, Rebekah Lee Beard and Tara Austin who all met through the Society of Leaders in Development (SOLID), an organization for young music business professionals.  With the support of SOLID, the girls set out to organize an all-female, writer-in-the round benefit concert – later called Women Rock For The Cure – to help raise awareness and funds for SOLID’s Race For The Cure team.  Since then, WRFTC has worked to support the Greater Nashville affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure®, raising money and increasing breast cancer awareness locally.  After two amazing years of standing-room-only concerts, the founders decided to make WRFTC a non-profit organization and is rockin’.

Rock The Walk, a benefit concert for Autism Speaks, will be held on Aug 1st at  7:30 p.m at The Nashville Palace.  This event will be hosted by Evan Farmer from The Learning Channel’s “While You Were Out” and will showcase some exceptional talent from the Nashville area including Rissi Palmer, Ashley Ray, The Rust, Rick Seibold, Brinn Black, Bethany Anne and special guest Katie Chance.
